Coincidences and choices, failures, chances, desires and necessities, time, hope,
absurdity, acceptance and change. Marjolijn Rijks seeks for the threshold, the space that lays between subjects and meanings.
The production of things comes from a place that collaborates with concepts but don't
purely depart from there. During the making, out of chaos something appears that is worth of scrutinization something that seems to contain the message meant to get through. The pieces are a balance of sensations, an esthetic language that multiple mediums such as sculpture, photography or painting define.
Marjolijn Rijks is the project manager of The Bookstore foundation.
She is responsible for the general management of internal resources
and the development of activities.
