Video, photography, text
Trbovlje - Slovenia, 1980
Iztok Klančar is a visual story teller, working with video and photo installations, publications and text. His work has been shown in relevant art institutions and at events (Nederlands Fotomuseum, GEM, Showroom MAMA, Tokyo Photo, Plat(t)form - Fotomusem Winterthur), as well as in smaller venues with their own dedicated audience.
The starting point of his process is a diary of the intimate world of himself and his peers. These visual and textual notes serve as scripts for the next stage where he uses video. There, the story gets narrowed down to metaphors of our inner core, its oscillating character and its independence from the morals of our time.
